Venice, Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. Venice is a beautiful, quaint
city built Mediterranean style in the early 1900's.
Along
with a beautiful gulf-front location, Venice also enjoys a great
location by its proximity to Sarasota and the wonderful cultural
attractions located there. Venice, Florida is also close enough to
the theme parks of Orlando or for a visit to Miami Beach for a day trip.
On Venice Island you'll find a quaint downtown that will remind you
of the downtown's of the 1950's. With wide sidewalks designed for
strolling and window shopping. Venice, Florida was designed as a
planned resort and retirement town and celebrated it's 75th
anniversary in 2002. Venice is known as the "Shark's Tooth
Capitol of the World" for the millions of year's old shark's
teeth that anyone can find on the beaches of
Venice. If you don't want to hunt for shark's teeth, you can buy
them in just about any store in Venice. Many places even give them
away. The Shark's Tooth Festival and many more events are held in
Venice throughout the year.
